Last night the Chilliwack Ringette Association held its Annual General Meeting — the fifth one since the club was inaugurated in 2016. Chilliwack’s Mike Kinar was voted in as President, Julie Bauer became Vice-President and Valerie Wells joins for the first time as Director of Promotions. Brad Wolbeck retires from the Director of Officiating position after serving three years – thank you Brad!
After five years as President, Shannon Bettles hands the torch over to Mike, who previously served as Chilliwack’s Vice-President as well as Director of Athlete Development. Last season, he was also the U14 Zone Coordinator for the Fraser Valley region of the LMRL. Mike is a softball coach and the parent of an athlete on Chilliwack’s U12 team. Fun fact about Mike: he recently purchased a skate sharpening machine.
The new board will have much to do as ringette looks to get back on the ice this fall. All ringette associations in BC are awaiting direction from Ringette BC and will provide more information once it’s known.
Congratulations and welcome to the new board:
Mike Kinar, President
Julie Bauer, Vice-President
Sara Gregory, Secretary
Dyan Kinar, Treasurer
Laureen Benton, Registrar
Christine McPhee, Equipment Manager
Nikki Thompson, Ice Scheduler
Philip Shewring, Director of Coaching
Valerie Conroy, Director of Evaluations
Valerie Wells, Director of Promotions
Shannon Bettles, Past-President
Two board positions remain unfilled including Director of Athlete Development and Director of Officiating. Interested persons should contact Mike to inquire about joining: email@example.com
