February 26 — Free hotdog night at Sardis Sports Complex

February 17, 2020

Do you like ringette? Do you like hotdogs?

Taking place on Rink 1 at Sardis Sports Complex on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:30pm — the Chilliwack 18+ team will be playing their rival Port Coquitlam in an exciting year-end match up that might just determine the league champion.

Triple B Plumbing & Heating is sponsoring the event by providing a free hotdog and popcorn from the concession stand to anyone wearing a Chilliwack Ringette jersey.

The Chilliwack 18+ team recently earned the first banner for their club in January at the West Coast Classic tournament in Richmond. The team is preparing to attend Provincial Championships March 13-15 in Salmon Arm.

Chilliwack’s team has a wealth of ringette experience including former national and provincial team players. It’s most experienced player Yvonne Johnson (55) is Canada’s longest continuously-playing ringette athlete who competes alongside her grand-daughter Alex Schneider on the same team.

The team’s youngest athlete Quiana Borges (19) is a graduate from Chilliwack Secondary School.

Five players are on the Chilliwack Ringette executive: Laureen Benton, Shannon Bettles, Christine McPhee, Julie Bauer and Dyan Kinar. And almost all of the players coach, volunteer or officiate in the association.

Chilliwack’s ringette teams are encouraged to come out and cheer on their favourite players!
